 About Open Space Arts

 Open Space Arts is a vibrant and dynamic, volunteer-supported, arts organization located in

 Reisterstown, MD, founded over 30 years ago. We are dedicated to fostering creativity,

 supporting local artists, and providing our community with a diverse range of cultural and artistic

 experiences. Over the years, our programs have included visual arts, theater, music, dance, and

 more, aimed at engaging individuals of all ages and backgrounds.

 Position Description

 Open Space Arts is seeking a part-time, volunteer Interim Artistic Director/Executive Director to

 lead our organization during a transitional period. The ideal candidate will be a visionary leader

 with a strong background in the arts, nonprofit management, and community engagement who

 wants to help revitalize and grow this unique organization. This role requires a dynamic

 individual who can oversee management of both the artistic and administrative functions of the

 organization.

 Key Responsibilities

● Artistic Direction: Oversee the development and execution of artistic programming,

 ensuring it aligns with the organization’s mission and goals. Curate a diverse range of

 performances, exhibits, and events that engage and inspire our community.

● Leadership: Provide strong, inspirational leadership to volunteer staff and artists. Foster

 a collaborative and inclusive work environment that encourages creativity and

 innovation.

● Fundraising and Development: Lead fundraising efforts, including donor cultivation, and

 organizing fundraising events. Develop and implement strategies to secure financial

 support for the organization’s programs and operations.

● Community Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with community

 members of all ages, especially those age 6-18. Represent Open Space Arts at public

 events, meetings, and in the media.

● Administrative Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the organization,

 including budgeting, financial management, and compliance with legal and regulatory

 requirements.

 Recommended Qualifications

● Bachelor’s degree in arts administration, fine arts, or a related field.

● Minimum of 2 years of experience in arts management, nonprofit leadership, or a related

 field.

● Proven track record in fundraising and development, preferably with experience in grant

 writing and donor relations.

● Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.

● Excellent communication and public speaking skills.

● Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders.

● Passion for the arts and commitment to the mission of Open Space Arts.
